EPINET (Euclidean Patterns In Non-Euclidean Tilings) is a database of periodic network structures and relations between them. The first version of the searchable website “epinet.anu.edu.au” went live late in 2005 and has since undergone two major restructures, most recently in 2023. This project contributes to the program of `reticular chemistry’ by providing an enumeration of 3-periodic nets with a high degree of symmetry and broad range of vertex degrees and cycle sizes. This talk will give an overview of the structures in EPINET, and survey some of the main uses of this information in materials science. It will conclude by outlining the challenges in extending the enumeration methods to include other classes of structures.
